Our faucet handle has been leaking and we thought this would be a project we could handle ourselves. We watched some "how to" youtube videos and were able to get the little screw out and thought that the handle should just pull up and off. We also tried spinning the handles clockwise and put WD40 in the little screw holes. We tried putting a flat head screwdriver between the handle and the seat (is that what it is called?), and it does wiggle a tiny bit but is still not budging. They have been there for probably 15+ years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Is there another screw in that hole besides the one that we already removed with our allen wrench?

nope, not that removes from that hole. There’s a metal screw that the set screw you removed tightens down on.

Look at the parts breakdown.

Part 971-013 is what the handle is stuck on.

It’s a bottom of the barrel faucet. You could try to get Pfister to warranty for you.

So in normal circumstances, this handle would lift off? If there was no corrosion?

Correct

It’s metal stuck to metal that’s screwed into a plastic cartridge.

Usually the handle adapter will break away from the plastic cartridge and then you can work on removing the handle adapter out of the handle.

The cartridges at the very least would have to be replaced. Maybe the adapters and the handles as well.

Turn water off before you start.🤓
