Hi,

I added a (laundry) hose that has a connector to a faucet so that I could fill the nearby toilet as needed when it gets clogged. That all works fine, other than water leaking out of the connecter some. What I hadn't expected is that water also leaks from underneath the sink, from a hole inbetween the two water feeds. I have no idea why there is a passageway there for water to go through or how it gets there. I can see water pressure causing it to find a way out but didn't think there were any ways out if water couldn't go out the faucet as it was designed to do.

Is there a good picture of a the innerds of a basic bathroom sink that would show this pathway?

The faucet for this sink was replaced not too long ago. Did they do a lousy job or am I causing this by having the hose attached? It doesn't leak at low pressure but that also takes too long for the hose to add water to the toilet.

Water is not following the hose and dripping from that. The leak is coming from underneath the sink.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

John

More bad news. Now water leaks from underneath whenever I use the faucet... It didn't before this problem started.

I figured it out. The faucet is designed so that pipe where the water comes out has airspace between it and the actual external faucet. So, without a good seal (gasket), water goes back in that airspace and finds its way out of the porcelain sink.

So, I have to be sure the connector is snug and the gasket is good. This will happen with the aerator or the hose connecter attached if the rubber gasket is not in place.

Issue solved. Thanks anyway.
