how would you remove something like this though? where do i buy the new pipe?

I live in England, ours are plastic waste pipes. So it's easy. Looking through this forum I've just realised by photos you guys have Crome or copper pipes.

The pipe that is leaking is part of what is referred to as an "end outlet waste assembly". Basically everything between the bottom of the basket strainers to the top of the p-trap needs to go. The bottom of the end outlet waste also has a "branch tailpiece". Those terms will be critical when tracking down the parts.

It looks like the basket strainer on the left is leaking also (because it is taped up). You may want to replace both of them while you're at it. This way you will have confidence the leaks have been done away with.

The replacement parts are probably available in PVC but the configuration of that branch tailpiece is a little unique. You may need to have this addressed by a Plumber to get it reassembled correctly.

what's the alternative to calling the plumber
because the local plumber would kindly charge a flat $60-80 flat diagnosis fee. and i don't wanna pay it.

Most companies in my area wave fee's if you have them do the work. I know they do charge if you have them come out and diagnose the problem and then you do the work. That job is a little bit more than changing a pipe with a hole in it. I would pay one time to have it all re piped and not worry about it any more.
