Hello, I would like to tap into my water line with a saddle valve to create a drip system for my aquariums. I was wondering if there was any issues tapping into the water tank's water line. I attached an image of what I believe is the copper tube coming from the main water line and feeding the water heater. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Saddle valves are not allowed by code. You should cut into the line, add a tee and a proper valve.

One other issue you might want to consider is that heat will migrate upward along those pipes, which means you might have warm/hot water going to your aquarium.. Not sure if this would be a problem or not.
