Hello to all and thanks for an awesome site. I am a new member and always looking to learn and help.
I need some help with adding a vent to my kitchen sink. It now uses a Studor AAV and I would like to remove it. I believe they are illegal in MD.
The sink drains OK but slows down when the dishwasher is draining. During normal draining you can head the AAV working.
The house is a Cape Cod about 60 years old. The outside walls are concrete block with furring strips attached for the drywall. There is no 2x4 wall cavity.
The 3" stack vents through the roof.
I assume the 2" galvanized stack is wet vented. I don't know if that is OK.
The 1-1/2" dry vent from the lav connects to the 3" stack 48" above the floor.
The kitchen sink drain is about 2-1/2' from the 2" stack.
Is there any way to vent this?
Thanks for the help and have a great day!
Jim
