Hi Folks,

I'm a DIY'r that needs a little help.

I came home last night to a puddle of water around the dishwasher. Upon inspection, it appears as the leak is coming from the Drain Hose.

So my next course of action is of course to pull out the dishwasher and inspect the hose. But First I have to remove the water supply line.

The supply line is done with PEX as seen here:

So how do I remove it and reinstall it? I've never worked with PEX stuff before...I understand I might have to go out and buy a PEX crimp tool...anything reccomended thats cheap?

Thanks!!!

I would remove all the plastic up to the brass fitting, then install a braided stainless steel flexible dishwasher supply line which will connect to the undersink valve. Just make sure you bring both sides of the existing plastic line with you to the hardware store and match it for both size and length.

That is Wirsbo. You're going to have a bastard of a time removing it from the brass fitting.

Id say your best bet is to cut the plastic pipe behind the 90, spin that brass fitting out of there and install new. In order to remove those rings and pull the pipe off you will need to slice them in 2 with a hacksaw blade, but if you accidentally go thru it and nick the brass fitting, you wont be able to re-use it, it will leak.

You can use pex fittings on Wirsbo pipe. Get a straight pex 1/4turn shut off valve that you can adapt 3/8 braided supply and connect that to the dishwasher. That way in the future you can remove the dishwasher without having to cut anything.
