Can anyone Identify what this is? Doing a project and bought a bunch of Kohler and Moaen plumbing parts. (At an auction)

0pen it up and look inside.

Opened it up, seems to have a sensor or electrical cord, with an "8" on it. Doesn't seem to go with anything I bought, but there is a lot of random stuff in this auction lot.
