Heating element size help

Hello everyone, I have replaced my Rheem xe40m06st45u0 electric water heater elements with a 17.3" deep element and just found out that the heater calls for a 13.5". The 17" fit and works fine but appreciate any advise on whether or not I should change it again.

that unit has 2 4500 watt elements, that is what you should be using

they are not rated by length, but by watt,look on the end of the element where the wires hook up
the wattage is there, it is also on the package it was wrapped in

Good deal Frodo, I was worried longer depth may come too close to other things inside such as the Anode rod or feed tube. I will leave it as is. Thank you for your input.
