I have a pex pipe which is attached to the water heater which terminates outside the house as pictured in the attached image. It's like an overflow.
According to code (Bellevue, WA) it needs to be a 3/4 termination elbow not 1/2 inch. Any idea how to fix this for an amateur plumber?
Is it possible to get the fitting off the pex pipe? It's a pex press fitting. Do I have to cut back along the red pipe and if so should I just cut further back so I can add some sort of coupling fixture to connect a new piece of pex pipe?
Can I use just a push connection(sharkbite) for the termination elbow and the coupling?
Thanks
Mark
