I finally got my house back from my ex. He lived there for about a year w/other roommates and they were not the best caretakers of the house. :( In the last 2 months they have had a plumber out 3 times. 1st time had something to do with a pipe that detached in the kitchen. They only knew about it b/c the odor that started coming out of the vents. Supposedly that was fixed. 2nd time the water pressure just dropped and they had a water bill of about $400. Turns out the outside spigot-which is right next to kitchen- had cracked this winter and so that was replaced. Not even a week later the plumber had to come back out again b/c whenever they flushed the toilet in one of the bathrooms it would back up into the tub. Supposedly that was b/c of the water pressure dropping from the previous issue. Well now it's a week later and the 1st day I start to walk into my house I notice that the foundation right outside my kitchen window is wet. In fact it was dripping some. I can try to upload a pic-not sure how to do that just yet. I thought maybe from where the siding was redone they didn't seal it and so it was holding water. However when I went into my kitchen it sounded like the water was running but the faucet was off. Any suggestions? Someone please help. If it's something I could possibly fix or have someone else fix w/out calling a plumber AGAIN that would be great. I'm already elbow deep in repairs of this house. Rather not tack on another big bill if at all possible.

In order to attach a picture, click on "Manage Attachments" and then find the file on your computer and upload it.

Alternately, you can upload the image to a photo site that you like to use and then click the
insertimage.gif
image and paste the url. Alternatelly, you can just type [ img] (without the space) as the opening tag and [ /img] (also without the space) as the closer around the url.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope someone can help you sort it out.

From your description, it sounds as though either a pipe is damaged in the wall behind the kitchen sink, or a joint was not properly assembled when the repair to the outside spigot was done. I would call that plumber back out, and try to be there when he opens the wall back up.
