Years ago when we had a house built with a basement, I had a return pipe put on the water heater to allow
hot water to rise to the kitchen sink and cooler water to flow back to the bottom of the water heater. It worked great!
I'm in a house now with out a basement, the water heater is in the garage placed 7ft from the kitchen faucet. It takes
over 0.8 gallons of water and 33 seconds before hot water flows from the kitchen faucet. I don't know the path,
it's in the concrete floor, but it doesn't seem very direct.
I'm wondering if running a pipe to the ceiling in the garage and back down to the level of the faucet input is enough rise to
get the water to flow? About 4-1/2 feet up to the ceiling. Any other tips?
Thanks, Mikek
