I currently have a few clients inquiring about having a insulated geyser / boiler blanket put on their geysers. I am trying to find something online that gives me a better look behind the science and what the best products to use are, but I'm having no luck, just adverts. I would obviously like to install the best product, so I'm throwing that out to you guys and hoping for some help.

I think I am having a dialect/slang gap confusion episode here.

To me, a geyser is something that spouts a column of water up out of the ground on occasion.

Obviously, to you it is some type of plumbing fixture. My first thought is that you are talking about what I would call a drinking fountain, but then you also mention a boiler. So I am confused as to what you mean by a geyser.

Hi there,

Yeah a geyser is a boiler (UK) / water heater (US). In South Africa we call it a geyser. Electricity prices are going up and I have people asking for cheap ways to save electricity. I've put on a store brand that I got recommended, but the thing is basically a glorified fire blanket. They aren't designed to have long duration heat exposure and get warm themselves. I have seen some have a type of gel in them too, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with a certain brand they would recommend.

Thanks again for your help guys
