Hello, I'm currently in the process of replacing my Honeywell control, and the replacement just arrived today, but it has a connection missing on the new unit. Everything looked exactly the same, except I'm missing what is labeled as COM. What type of issue am I going to be seeing with this? Will I need to replace it with another unit that includes this missing plug? Your help is appreciated, and thank you.

There are several models of Honeywell controls that are currently being used.

Here’s one for a water heater and the “ com “ port is unused. Nothing on the water heater connected to the missing “ com “ port. There’s nothing there to connect to. It’s just a blank in the shell that wasn’t utilized.

If your model utilized the “ com “ port on the old control then your new one should have it.

The one you posted a picture of is exactly what I got when searching for a recommended replacement for my part number that I entered. If I did this correctly, this should be the picture of the one currently installed.

You need the common port to be functional.

You probably have a power vented water heater.

Thank you for the help. One of the buyers asked about this on their page, and they were recommended to just splice the wires together, and that didn't make much sense to me. Idk if it helps, but this label had some info on it.

Call The manufacturer and give them the model and serial number. They will sell you the correct model number control valve.

You did not order the correct control or they sent the wrong control valve.
