A decent section of black iron pipe that is part of the return system on my water boiler rotted away. The plumber who repaired it manufacturer the new sections via a series of connections instead of cutting the new sections to the proper length. He also used plastic couplings to marry the new section to the old pipe.

As a customer, should I be satisfied with this repair and is this up to code in NJ? I have already complained and am waiting on a callback, but I wanted to received some expert opinions. I have attached photos.

I am not experienced in boilers, but I certainly wouldn't want that type of work in my house. Hopefully someone with more experience in this area will chime in, but I would be surprised if any experienced plumber would put his name on that work.

Not done by a plumber. Looks like he just went to the hardware store and jury rigged a bunch of nipples and couplings together. What's the story will the fernco coupling? There not meant to be used on a pressure line. There for drainage piping, it won't last very long on a heat line. The repair should have been done with a single section of pipe with a threaded union in place of the fernco. I hope you haven't paid him.
