Can someone please explain to me how this is possible? When I cut an oval piece of plastic and seal the bowl with painters tape, the sewer gas goes away.
It appears there is enough water in the bowl, so the toilet trap cant be empty.
Is it possible that a faulty toilet can transmit sewer gas through the holding tank seal and the flush rims?
