Please forgive me if I don't get the terminology correct. I have a faucet, in my laundry room in my apartment.( I know perfect placement above the electricity) I would like to hook up a hose to this so I can hose off my balcony, however when I tried hook up a hose to it the water came shooting out the top of the hose where they were connected. I am assuming that the threads dont allow the hose to screw on to the point where the gasket meets the faucet. The garden hose threaded on, but the threads on the faucet seem to be finer then the threads on the hose, yet it still screwed on. I tried measuring the threads and faucet size best I could and took some pictures. Can anything be done? Any help would be great. Also the washing machine is below it and I would rather not remove it, I also don't know where a shut off valve is. So probably what I am looking for is an adapter. Thanks. From the thread on top to the bottom was 1/4" and the opening looked to be a hair over 1" in diameter.
