Well it's finally time to test for inspection readiness. In my situation I must use a test balloon device to plug the system. Since I will only use this tool once in my life...does anyone know where I could find a one without buying an expensive test kit? If you know the type or brand that would be great. Thanks.

I call these waffer test caps. they glue onto the end of your pipe.
if, you glue this onto the end of your pipe, then glue the pipe into a test tee,
it will hold a test. then, you simply, reach inside the pipe and cut the wafer out with your knife

it works, i have done at least 50 times

I have used those for stubbed up lines and trap arms.
You would have to install that on the downstream end of your run as you build it. Good Idea. BUT If you had a leak on the system, it would be difficult to drain it, repair the leak and retest.

Ferguson started advertising a new test ball. I has a hose port on it so you can not only fill from that point but also drain from it as well. Best to fill from the bottom so you eliminate as much trapped air as possible. I really want to get a few.
