Hi,
Good day ya'll. I'm a novice and always hire a pro plumber for the big jobs.

I bought this house to fix up and I can't figure out what type of diverter this is. I'm trying to repair this and of course need to get the correct parts. I really don't want to bust the tile out and replace the entire diverter assembly if I can help it. I found no markings and no way to remove what would normally be a cartridge. It seems to be all one solid piece... Any help is appreciated. I even had my plumber look at it and he couldn't identify it. The house was built around 1900. Yikes!!!

Thank you in advance!!!

I really don't see any other option than cutting a hole on the back side and replacing the entire set up.

That is a Moen faucet. To replace the cartridge pull the chrome sleeve off. Under that you will see a small brass clip on the top side that needs to be removed. Then the cartridge pulls out. This is the cartridge you need. If you call Moen they will send you one free of charge.

Dont forget to turn the water off to the faucet using those shut offs on the sides (the slots for the flat screwdriver) or you may get an unpleasant shower :D

It is a moentrol. It takes a 1225 posi temp cartridge. It also has a balancing spool. It is located on the right side of valve and has a slot for a straight screw driver. If you remove spool and shake it it should make a rattle noise if it is still good. That is not the original shower valve. Diverter is a simple slip on style. The diverter attaches to the cooper pipe coming out of wall
