Dishwasher is leaking water

Help, it's leaking water all over the kitchen floor. It's also making a straining sound.

Does this mean it's dead, or could it be a blockage?

When they start leaking often time for a new one. But could be something simple like a drain hose that the mice chewed a hole through.
2 or 4 small screws holding the bottom cover plate on.
Remove the cover and look under when you run a cycle.
if the dishwasher is in pretty good shape it might be worth having an appliance repairman look at it. But you might be better off just replacing it.
