I am finishing the basement and need to make the ceiling framing 'flush' for easy dry-walling, and therefor need to cut an expansion fitting on a 3/4 pex-a, then route those runs through the joist (instead of underneath it) and reconnect. After cutting, I canNOT use that uponor tee again (correct?) and I don't have an expansion tool anyway. The runs I'm re-routing would have enough 'wiggle/stretch' for a new connections, but both ends of the tee won't. Suggestions?

If you have room to pull both pipes just cut in front of the tee's about two inches and then put couplings in and re-install.
