crimping ring to small on Go/NoGo gauge?

I bought a masterforce pex crimping tool to replace the water lines in a mobile home. I have watched a few videos on youtube, and I read about the Go / No Go gauge stating that if the ring slides all of the way up on the No Go gauge that the ring is to small. How can that be a bad thing? The fitting is brass and I would think that the crimp ring tightening and holding the pex tubing tighter to the brass fitting would help ensure a tight fit.

So, do I trust the No Go result and re-do the fitting or should I leave it alone? Thanks for any helpful advice.

You need to adjust the crimping tool.

No....never trust what the manufacturer of the tool recommends. They dont know anything

Warren! I hope you do realize Matt is being Sarcastic.

Being tighter is not always a good thing.
Like a belt holding up your pants.

Here's way. I attached a picture.
The dimension or Diameter of the crimp radius between the red lines will always be the same. A very precise value.
There is a small gap between the 2 haves of the crimp tool.
The diameter between the pink arrows of the crimp will change with adjustments, therefor it will not be a precise round even crimp, but slightly oval.
The Go/ No-Go gauge is to insure that you have a round even crimp.
