I am trying to replace a cracked pipe connected to the sprinkler vacuum breaker. Planning to put a metal one.
Need help on how to remove the existing pvc;
Should I cut it open and unscrew the joints?
I tried unscrewing the joints but it seems to be very tight, maybe it is glued.

Thanks,
Ram

Those are glued. You could cut off that upper right elbow and disassemble it, put the new one back on, but then you are going to need to glue another elbow and a coupling back in place. Personally, I would install a union for easier maintenance in the future.
