Hi everyone, first off it's my first post here so hello and thanks to everyone.

I'm doing a kitchen project and I've run into a problem. I ended up with the wrong cabinet, and so in order for my dishwasher to fit I had to change the placement. The problem is that after moving the sink, I have a 1.25" copper pipe sticking out of the wall. I tried my pipe-wrench, nothing, tried heating it with my torch, nothing. In order for the dishwasher to be flush with the cabinets I need it to go almost all the way to the wall, and so obviously this pipe is causing an issue. I'm wondering if I can cut the pipe down as close to the fitting as possible and maybe tap new threads into the pipe to make a cleanout, or use some sort of epoxy plug to close it up. Any suggestions would be great, pictures are attached.

Thanks everyone!

I can't be 100% sure from that picture, but usually the transition from the cast to the copper will be via a threaded fitting. The brass bushing can be peeled out of the cast fitting by cutting out a narrow slice with a reciprocating saw, and then breaking that slice out with a flat screwdriver and a hammer. Then the rest of the brass bushing will roll out of the cast fitting. This can be a 5 or 10 minute operation, or it can be a bit more involved, depending on how badly the threads are corroded.

This worked perfectly! I was able to use a fitting clean out plug and now the dishwasher is flush with the cabinets. Thanks!
