Hello,

for many reasons i regret buying this ebay shower kit several years back, but now I have a new reason.

I can't figure out how to remove the cartridge.

The cartridge looks like the one shown here:
https://www.amazon.ca/SODIAL-Shower-Thermostatic-Cartridge-Handle/dp/B07VSLPD25
but im not 100% sure thats the right one. (pictures of mine below).

I tried pulling it, twisting it, opening and closing the valve to each end and pulling the whole cartridge and twisting it. It is only rotating about 1 degree in each direction, and only moving about 1/8th of an inch in and out.

Any ideas?

The cartridge has 2 flat sides that tells me it spins, there are no threads, there looks like an allen screw in the stem maybe you need the handle on to remove it show these pics plus the trim to a plumbing supply house

Good for you locating what looks like a match.
It does look like there should be/is an allen set screw on the threaded silver colored valve body, and that removing the screw would free the valve.

I think your right, i found what looks like to be a hole at the bottom of the valve body. But I cant see whats inside, since the shower wall is covering it. In order to get to it i would have to remove a good part of the shower wall :/

You should only need a narrow slot, maybe 3/4 to one inch long, 1/2 inch wide.
To sneak in the short leg of an allen wrench.
You could repair the slot later with mortar or epoxy or fiberglass resin.
Hopefully your trim would cover it.
Otherwise you could try to color match it to your stone.
Or glue in a small piece of stone in the slot.
Or just caulk in a filler piece of stone, with color matched caulk, so you can pull the piece out again if needed.
