Can i move these pipes?

Hi experts,
Behind these pipes is a kitchen sink.
There is plenty of room for the drain pipe of the sink to go behind the wall. That leaves the longer pipe going up the wall - I'm not sure what its purpose is (venting?), see other pic of the attachment at the top.

Ideally I would move the drain pipe so that it was on the inside of the house and move the venting pipe to the right hand side of the house as seen in the first pic.

Would this work?

Yes it's a vent. Yes you need it. It's better than the illegal and unreliable alternatives out there. Drilling diagonally through your studs isn't the easiest, but I've done it. You'll need the right hole saw. You might want to see if you can arrange the vent with less diagonal.
