Hello.
A couple weeks ago, I walked into my basement to see a puddle. After investigating, I found a leaking elbow leading into my Burnham PAL-26. So I replaced the elbow, which was simple. A few days later, there's still new puddle water down by the water heater. So today, I inspected to see where the leak was coming from. There were a couple small cracks in a plastic drain valve at the bottom of the water heater. It's threaded into the bottom of the heater, in a strange spot. My first reaction was to just buy a threaded PVC cap to put on the end, so 38 cents later, I now have a cap. I put the cap on it, and now it's dropping out of them stem of the drain.
I'm a little hesitant to unscrew the valve from the water heater because I can't seem to find one to replace it with anywhere.
Thoughts?
Please be gentle.
