boiler won't work on auto mode??? HELP :O

Hi can anyone help me with my boiler, there's a control box next to the water tank which has a slide switch from auto to manual mode. The boiler switches and works fine when the control box is set to manual mode, but when i switch it to auto mode nothing works and nothing happens when i press buttons on the programmer, hour+ doesn't work and nothing else works.

Do boilers use thermocouplers? If so, that would be the first place to check. If not, it might be time to purchase a new controller. Bump to someone with experience for Vijay......
