Best way to adjust the drain line for optimal fitment

Hello.

I was hoping someone could share their expertise on the best way to adjust this drain pipe to align with the sink drain. Please see the attached photos for reference. Thank you in advance.

Your trap arm needs to be longer.

I doubt there is much excess length inside the wall drain line, so you will probably need to purchase a new one and cut it to length after you get the P-trap and tail piece aligned under the sink drain. The black tailpiece needs to be cut so that it doesn't bottom out inside the white tailpiece extension. With the tailpieces aligned and screwed onto the P-trap, the outlet side of the P-trap can be rotated such that it meets perfectly with the trap arm. You can then cut the trap arm to the correct length.
 
Hopefully the trap will swing that far. IIf not you’ll need to either remove the threaded pvc trap adapter at the wall or install a tubular plastic fitting between the trap adapter and the tubular trap weir. Good luck to you.
