I don't like the candy cane vent and want to put some sort of normal looking top on it but i am worried about rain possibly getting in from the side if I use something similar to a flue cap. How critical is it with these condensing boiler vents if possibly a little bit of side rain got into the vent pipe? Will it ruin the boiler in any way?

There are many variations of vent caps, but your location will dictate whether you could use it or not. Since you have the candy cane type, I assume you are in an area where snow is prevalent?

Hello, I don't have a candy cane. What they gave me with the boiler are two tees to go horizontal out the side of the house. Since I am going to vent the boiler out of the roof, I was going to make a candy cane but I'd rather use some sort of flue cap, but I don't know if rain is going to be an issue or not.
