I would like to add a refrigerator ice maker that is very close by to that line. Is that doable and how would you recommend doing it, i.e. what fittings etc.? The existing access point is behind the in-cabinet ice maker and has a long line that drops down into the basement where a filter hangs in it, presumably for better access, and then goes back up to the ice maker.

You could replace that faucet with a dual faucet like the below. If you wanted to use that existing filter for both you could probably put a vampire tap on the copper tubing.

You should be more worried about that yellow pipe glue on the pvc

Thanks! No idea what it is, but it’s on a sump pump discharge line that doesn’t run that often and there has never been a problem that I’ve noticed.
