I replaced a diverter valve stem after noticing when the shower head was activated, the tub facet still ran a decent amount.

Now with the replacement, the tub faucet still does but not as bad. If i twist a little hard it will stop completely.

What would make this a smooth process instead of having to turn the handle to hard?

For reference. It's a 10L - 16D danco for sterling faucets.

The “ seat “ may need to be replaced or there could be debris/old washer still left in the valve interfering with the new part.

Remove it and inspect.

Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately, I didnt locate any debris and the seat has also been replaced. Dumb question, but could not taping the threads have caused this?

I didnt want to move the o ring to tape it since I needed to get it working asap
