Hope you can help,

I have a 1.5 inch drain pvc pipe flowing from left to right and turning a 90 degree angle downwards.
Is it possible to convert this to a tee and add an option to control the flow to go straight on or downwards?
So basically some kind of tee where I can block the flow downwards whenever I need to?

Thanks

Check with a swimming pool/spa parts place. They deal with a lot of directional valves.

Just my opinion.

The black valve with the 8 Phillips stainless steel screws are Jandy valves. They are designed for pool equipment, and work great at directing flow to any direction. They also have one way check valves so as to not lose the prime going to your pumps. You go to Leslies Pool supply, and they will cost in excess of $100 each. If you go on line, I've seen them as low as $50. Choose your poison, but they are the best on the market and last forever. They also make rebuild kits for them as well.

Havasu sounds like a knowledgeable person with these valves. Sounds like he has experience with them.

As a plumber my only experience with these valves are honoring a homeowners request to install his valve where he instructs me to install it in his system.

In other words I’m just a dummy who can fit pipe when it comes to pools. 😬

But I do install pool heaters 👍🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
