Auger stuck in toilet full of brown water/can't see, can't get water down

Toilet got clogged a couple days ago. tried the plunger forever to no avail. Wife bought a $20 auger & got it stuck when I wasn't home. I can't see because the water is full & very thick brown. Paper towels or baby wipes be my guess

Any ideas other than taking the toilet off the floor?

Hopefully, you can just walk away for a day, hoping the water will go down.

Use a shop vac to suck it out, rinse and repeat

Can you put some of the toilets cleaning liquid in it and let it sit? Then hot water and try to jiggle the auger?

Dip it out with a cup and pour it into a bucket. It would be effective. Tongs for the baby wipes ?

Get a neighbor to help.

Make whomever flushed the paper towels and baby wipes fix this.

Sounds like they tried, that’s when they twisted the auger into a knot.
